Spring is here, which means the golfing season has officially kicked off for us folks in the Northern hemisphere and it’s time to dig out the golf clothing. Last year at this time, my husband and I were able to break out the summer golf attire while in Hilton Head, South Carolina and it definitely had me lusting for a longer season.
We played at the Crescent Pointe Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer, and it was spectacular (the palm trees helped). It was the first time I broke 90 and you can be sure immense celebrations ensued. It’s a result I haven’t been able to repeat — turns out, your ball goes further in a warmer climate — but I’m certain this will be my season.
Where is all the good golf clothing?
Like many other golfers, I increased the amount of rounds I played since the pandemic sent us outside. I usually play at least once a week from April till the season’s end in October or November. So, I spend a lot of time in golf clothes through multiple seasons.
As someone who loves fashion and style, I also spend an exorbitant amount of time looking for cool, functional golf clothes. And while I’ve noticed an uptick in fashion-forward options for men, the women’s golf clothing category is severely underserved. Sidenote: If anyone wants to front me the capital to start a sustainable and fashion-forward women’s golf clothing company, I am available!
Personally, I don’t want to wear tropical prints or excessively bright patterns. My personal style leans classic and I love preppy accents so I love the timeless and retro aesthetic of traditional golf clothing.
While not all the selections below are *technically* golf clothing, they are excellent activewear pieces that can be used on the course, off the course, for weekend hikes, weekday walks and everything in between.
The Golf Clothing Edit
Here are my favourite sustainable fashion brands for golf clothing that can be worn on and off the course.
Tilley
Tilley is a Canadian company originally focused on hats that designs locally, and produces responsibly. When thinking about building a more conscious collection of golf clothes, always consider the quality of the item. Tilley recently went through a rebrand after being sold and now have an excellent offering of timeless golf apparel that will still look chic 20 years from now. They also have a life-time guarantee on their hats and their apparel is made from mostly natural materials in combination with synthetics for performance reasons.
Women’s Golf V Sweater // Polo Dress // Team Polo
Women’s T Cardigan // T Golf Cap // Welding Skirt
Girlfriend Collective
Girlfriend Collective makes luxe active apparel from recycled materials in an inclusive size range (XXS-6XL). They also offer a recycling program so you can recycle most old Girlfriend Collective pieces to turn them into future clothes.
I am an OG Girlfriend Collective fan. I bought the prototype legging in 2017 after my sister saw an Instagram ad for them. Six years later, I still wear them weekly in addition to the other varieties I’ve acquired 😉.
Sport Skort // Paloma Racerback Dress // Simone High Support Bra
Vuori
Vuori is a climate neutral company that makes premium performance apparel inspired by the active Coastal California. They’re focused on sustainability and have ethical manufacturing practices. They recently launched their Court to Resort collection, geared towards tennis, but I think it can work for golf too.
I am not exaggerating when I say I live in my Mid Rise Elevation Slim Bootcut. I have them in black, am a US6 and wear a size small. The pants are outstandingly comfortable, flattering and look more polished than leggings. They don’t have pockets so not great golf clothing (unless it’s cold and you’re wearing a top layer with pockets). They are amazing work from home / airport / casual brunch pants.
Topspin Dress // Mudra Fitted Polo // Volley Skirt

I had no idea Tilley had golf clothes! Definitely a lot cuter than what I’ve found on my travels. Will be picking up a few of these for sure. Thanks for bringing us some relevant pressing/timely intel!
